The Durham County FA has received requests to form an Under 21 Midweek League which would be aimed at teams from Step 6 and above.

Teams would need access to facilities that are compatible with Step 6 and above including floodlights.

The benefit of this league is to allow you as clubs to keep developing youth players, creating a better male pathway into your senior teams. The midweek allows the continued technical and tactical development while they still have the option of playing for your clubs Saturday Men's team.

We've had positive discussions with Darlington FC, Guisborough Town and many other clubs in the north east to get this off the ground for the 25/26 season.

The fixtures would be played midweek on a date agreed by the competing teams
Allow 4 over age players to participate (3 Outfield + 1 Goalkeeper)
Referees to be appointed by the League
Venues would need floodlights and dug outs as well as being fully enclosed
The league would commence at the beginning of September 2025
