Alex Clark Referee Development Officer: “On behalf of Durham FA may I offer our congratulations to all of our referees who have been promoted this season. Their promotions are a testament to their hard work and dedication as well as their on field performance."

Jonny Urwin commented: "I'm delighted to have been promoted to 2B for the forthcoming season. There is no doubt that my development has been accelerated by the work of Durham FA Referee Academy between the levels 7 and 4, latterly through FA CORE and also through my support network of colleagues and peers. The hard work starts again here and I can't wait to get started again in August"

James Westgate stated: “There is no better feeling than receiving an email to say that you have been promoted. I am absolutely over the moon to have received it and I can’t wait for the new season to get started! The academy was a massive help in getting me to this stage of my career in refereeing. From regular contact with other referees, to video analysis and debates, to fitness sessions and a dedicated coach it has all helped me get to this point.”

Andrew Kitchen noted: “I am absolutely delighted to have been promoted at the end of a season which has seen lots of hard work produce some outstanding high points! The support I received coming through the system, particularly when I was a Level 7 referee that joined the DFA Academy has helped to provide me with the basis on which I have been able to build in subsequent seasons”
