THE FA AND MCDONALD’S GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL AWARD WINNERS AND RUNNERS UP ANNOUNCED
In a season which was unfortunately cut short as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, The FA and McDonald's Grassroots Football Awards celebrate and recognise the inspiring work that has taken place throughout the 2019/20 season. This is our opportunity to celebrate Durham County's grassroots football heroes.
The FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards are for people who make a positive difference. It’s our way to celebrate the fantastic individuals who put their heart and soul into the grassroots game across Durham FA and say a huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who inspire us all.

Winner: South Tyneside Ability Football Club
Runner up: Consett AFC
Grassroots coach of the year for adults:
Winner: Steve Southern
Grassroots coach of the year for youth:
Winner: Beth Robinson – Bishop Auckland Girls FC
Runner up: Wayne Lonsdale – Crook Town AFC Youth
Grassroots League of the year:
Winner: Stockton Sunday League
Grassroots match official of the year:
Winner: Ryan Abraham
Runner up: Courtney Mole
Grounds Team of the year:
Winner: Bob Boustead- Cleveland Hall
Runner up: Paul Kelly- Whickham Fellside Youth FC
Rising Star of the year:
Winner: Thomas Jack Wallace – Jarrow FC Youth
Runner up: Lauren Johnson - Brandon United Youth
Volunteer of the year:
Winner: David Pyke – Consett AFC
Runner up: Vince Williams – Sunderland & District Over 40’s League
