Weetabix Wildcats Festival
Durham FA Wildcats Festival
The Durham FA Weetabix Wildcats Festival was organised and attended by staff from Durham FA and hosted by Durham Women. The festival took place at Maiden Castle on the 24th April prior to Durham Women v Sunderland Ladies. Seven Weetabix Wildcats teams took part in the festival from the clubs Newton Aycliffe Youth, Whickham Fellside YFC, Hetton Juniors and Deerness Valley.
The festival for girls age 7-10 years involved 5 a side games and skills sessions that were led by five Durham RTC coaches as well as Durham FA Wildcats Community Champion Alan Evans.
Durham Women kindly offered the girls who took part in the festival a free ticket to watch Durham Women v Sunderland Ladies. The girls who stayed for the game received their medal and certificate during a half time presentation where Durham Women’s Ellie Christon presented them with their medals and they were also awarded a certificate for participating.
Thank you to the Wildcats Centres who took part on the day and also to Durham Women for hosting the festival.
